Balance the colors used in the dining room. The feng shui dining room will be neither too bright (overstimulating and off-putting) nor too dull (boring and unpalatable). Colors will be balanced so that the dining area is happy and bright but with an underlying sense of calm and groundedness. Consider using reds or oranges on a light fixture, for example, and other calmer colors closer to the ground (e.g., dining chairs).
A dining room designed Abbe Fenimore. Its become common for dining spaces to have multiple uses, as shown in this photo of a dining room designed by Fenimore, founder of the Dallas-based design firm Studio Ten 25, which includes space for a home office.
Ideally, you can mix can lighting embedded in the ceiling with a hanging fixture above the table, and then sconces and perhaps a table lamp if theres room.
Well, technically there are many things that you need in your dining room―a good and spacious dining table, crockery, fruit holders, napkins, and the like―but these are the basic necessities, pretty much like saying that the must-haves for a wedding are the bride, groom, and marriage registry. While these basic elements are indispensable, we would be focusing on the not-so-basic, but essential components that you need, to make your dining room perfect in the true sense of the word.
